We know it's been quiet of late and thought we better bring y'all up to speed on what's happening.

First, there will be a new album of BOMBAY BLACK music to feast your ears on in 2016. The as-yet-untitled album will be released on Kivel Records. That's right! We heard ya missed us! WE'RE BACK!

We try to keep the label like a family here at Kivel Records. Anytime we have more than one Kivel act on a festival, we take what we like to call, a "Label Portrait". We've done this many times over the years and in various states, and even countries. All the bands get along with each other, and we encourage everyone to support one another and their releases. We even have a summer bash at Kasa Kivel every August.

Like all families, some move on after time to their own endeavors, new paths in life and career. In most cases, we like to leave the door open, and let them know they always have a place here with us.
Five years ago, we parted on very good terms with a bunch of bad asses from Arkansas after doing 5 releases with them. Even though they were no longer one of our artists, we maintained a friendship. We continued to work with each other in other capacities and behind the scenes work for the label.

Sometimes life is funny, and things come full circle. So that door being left open, was it inspiration? Divine intervention? Did it even matter? As they would surely knock it down with ease anyway, as that's their style. BIG ENTRANCE with lots of Noise and ATTITUDE. We wouldn't want it any other way, and couldn't be any more happy. So, please welcome back as artists to the Kivel Records, BOMBAY BLACK!!!

Look for their new album on Kivel Records in 2016. The Black is Back and more Bad Ass than ever before!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

From Everyone at Kivel Records and Bombay Black. Welcome Back.

Now, he did ask us for a quote to add to the copy and we DID send it:

"Someone please help us", says BOMBAY BLACK frontman Erik Johnson. "All I know is that we are in a basement where it is wet and dark. We were forced to eat Barry's kick drum leg. Please, somebody, anybody, oh god oh god oh god make the beatings stop... Shit! He's comi" (disconnected)

(Okay, the label president's looking at us with his usual "I swear I'm gonna end up in a straitjacket because of you guys" look. Let's continue.)

Second, BOMBAY BLACK will be taking part in an album project with Mark Giovi, former vocalist of melodic rock act Farcry, and Jason Pawlack, solo artist and writer of many a great melodic rock tune, in a group called "Romeo Riot". This will be a somewhat different sound for us as it will be closer to a "true" melodic rock album as opposed to the loud and obnoxious nonsense we normally do. Never hurts to stretch a bit. There's already a batch of excellent songs written for this one.

Third, after much dawdling, we've finally gotten around to doing something we've wanted to do for quite awhile. In true Hollywood tradition, we've rebooted our debut album, "Mercy". Every song has been redone from scratch, save for a few little cool bits of audio that we felt were fine as is. Why, you ask? Was there a licensing issue? Copyrights with the label? Loss of the masters? No, the truth is...

Our recorded sound now is so different from when we started (and, we think, 100% better!) that we wanted to have a version that sounds like we do now. Once completed, "Mercy 2.0" will be available sometime in late spring of 2016.

So, that's what's happening. We're off to go see Star Wars and do our last minute gift shopping. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
